Who doesn’t love a good industry conference? The National Settlement Services Summit (NS3) is one of the industry’s biggest events – it brings together the best and brightest from across the country for a few days of learning, networking and (hopefully) a little fun!
This year, we were incredibly proud to have had our very own President, Elizabeth Daniel, participate as a speaker at NS3 in Naples, Florida. The session, titled “Strategies to Thrive in Any Market,” tackled a question we’ve all probably asked ourselves: how do we stay successful even when things get a little rocky?
Elizabeth, along with industry leaders Rich Griffin from Doma Title Insurance and Brent Laliberte from Bayou Title, shared some fantastic tips on business development, marketing and keeping your team on top of their game. Here are a few key takeaways:
- Don’t Panic, Play to Your Strengths: During a downturn, it’s easy to feel the urge to completely overhaul everything. But, the panelists stressed the importance of focusing on what you already do well. Elizabeth gave a great example of our successful rebranding, where we transformed closings into celebrations – confetti cannons and all! A small change can make a big difference.
- Embrace Smart Marketing: Remember the days of throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping it sticks? Yeah, those are gone. The panelists emphasized the importance of targeted marketing that delivers results. We loved Brent’s concept of “Smarketing” – a blend of sales and marketing that ensures you’re reaching the audience that matters most.
- Invest in Your Team, They’re the Real Stars: We all know a strong team is the backbone of any successful company. The panelists all agreed on the importance of employee training and development. Elizabeth shared Continental Title’s unique approach – dedicating entire holidays, like Presidents Day and Veterans Day when our offices are closed, to company-wide continuing education.
We’re extremely proud of Elizabeth for representing Continental Title and sharing her expertise. By staying focused, adaptable, and putting our people first, we’re confident Continental Title will continue to thrive regardless of the market.
